KUALA LUMPUR: It was a fun-filled afternoon for a group of mothers and their children from Women's Aid Organisation when they were treated to a luncheon and fun activities by Shalome Lifestyle Restaurant and Bar last Saturday.
The group, consisting 11 mothers and their 22 children, were feted to a buffet luncheon, with dishes such as meehoon, pan-fried fish, salad and strawberry dip, at the restaurant's outlet in Taman Tun Dr Ismail.
After the lunch, the mothers and their children participated in a host of activities, including flowers and beads arrangement.
To make it more memorable, each mother was also given a free haircut by stylists from A Cut Above.
Also present were Datin Blanche O'lbery, the wife of PPP president Datuk M. Kayveas, WAO projects and administrative manager Annie Varghese, restaurant owner Kay Johan.
Shalome marketing manager Elinor Yong said the treat was in conjunction with Mother's Day celebrations."It is good to see the mothers and their children having so much fun together," she said, adding the event was one of the restaurant's community projects.
She said as it was Mother's Day celebration, it was befitting to treat the group from the shelter."We are also glad to have been able to rope in some companies as sponsors for the event," she said, adding she hoped to make the event as an annual affair in aid of various charitable bodies.
Yong said the restaurant is also holding special Mother's Day promotion, where proceeds from lunch and hi-tea set menu would be channeled to the shelter.
